my uniform

This is my go-to outfit: button down, skinny jeans, flats. Occasionally I'll belt it with a tie like I did here, but most of the time I just keep it simple. It always looks pulled together, but is comfortable and non-clingy for those days after I decide to eat an entire batch of chocolate chip pancakes.

I found this shirt in the boys' section at Target for $8, then lined the back side of the collar with a tie from an antique store - not bad for a $10 investment! (see the original post here)

Sometimes the thinking about layers and accessories seems like too much work - and it works so well for Sophia, so why try to reinvent the wheel?

What's your go-to outfit?

  1. Face-framing top + colorful cardigan + skirt + flats. This combo does the job, so I rarely mess with it.

  3. i love this! so simple.
    mine is definitely knee socks + librarian-y wedges+ shorts+ light sweater/ cardigan.

basically anything with knee socks= my uniform. it's kind of an homage to me mourning the fact that i didn't get to go to boarding school. or chilton. or was "madeline"

  8. The tie collar is such a good idea! My go-to outfit would be skinny jeans, a tank and a cardigan. I live in that most of the time. It's boring, but so easy!

  10. Oh, this is so sweet and simple. I might have to find an old white button-down and mimic your DIY. The idea is fabulous.

    My favorite go to outfit?
Either black leggings + boots + oversize tee (so college student, eh?) or dress + tights + brogues + belt or necklace (simple and comfy, especially for a food baby)
