I went to my favorite vintage store this weekend and came out with a bunch of trippy patterned dresses and one that, if worn with some winged eyeliner and a giant bouffant, would make me look like Julianne Moore's character in A Single Man (it's the one directly above, but I'm not going to give you a good look at it just yet!)
The only problem is that I'll most likely end up wearing these to dance around my house while drinking Pellegrino unless anyone's getting married in Palm Springs and wants to invite me.
I've been listening to lots of Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin and Bill Withers, which might've had something to do with my new love of psychedelic patterns. Here's what's been playing non-stop in my apartment - let me know what you think!
I hope you bought all three.
ReplyDeleteAnd you can always layer a cardigan or skirt over them to avoid a full body pattern.
...now I'm off to make a mix of my own!
Beautiful dresses, all three of them. Maybe you could lend me the one or another for some of the many weddings I need to attend this summer... :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see some more pics of you wearing those dresses. :)
Ooh, is this vintage store in Bloomington? I love the dress!
ReplyDeleteI love how happy you look! I wish we lived on the same continent so I could join in your vintage adventures and we could even host a cocktail party or two so we'd have somewhere to wear pretty dresses (because I feel the same!!)
ReplyDeleteI also tagged you for a blog award because I really enjoy reading yours! :)
So adorable, love the first one.
ReplyDeletePIECE OF CAKE. PEACE OF MIND.
Jessica - unfortunately it's outside Chicago, but there's a new vintage store on Kirkwood that I need to check out too!
ReplyDeleteL - For real! None of my real-life friends would be thrilled about a vintage-only dress code for a summer cocktail party. And thanks for the award tag! :)
I love the multiple colored one on the bottom, it's so great! I'm a huge fan of diana ross ;)

i too have quite the collection of dresses and not enough weddings/cocktail parties to wear them to! oh well!
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds! I really love that first one, the yellow and green! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteI love all three of the dresses you tried one! But I absolutely adore the 3rd one on you. I know exactly what you mean about buying cute dresses but not having any event to wear them to. I guess that means we have to make up our own events. =)

Those dresses are fabulous! I wish I knew a good vintage store in my area although that might result in an empty bank account...
ReplyDeleteA Single Man is outrageously beautiful, shot for shot. And so are those vintage dresses!
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are adorable!!! I love vintage shopping! :) I'm sure you'll find somewhere fun to wear them!
ReplyDeleteI'm usually not a fan of multiple color stripes, but I love the third dress. All three dresses are lovely and I hope to see them make an appearance on your blog soon.
