This year I decided to forgo the annual college student's pilgrimage to the Spring Break mecca of Panama City Beach in favor of checking out the early-bird specials in Punta Gorda with my grandparents.
One night we went to dinner at 4:30, naturally, as to beat the crowds. When we got to the restaurant, we saw a sea of white-haired diners and were quickly informed that it was going to be at least a 45 minute wait before we were seated. Not even 2 for 1 beers and a free slice of cheesecake for dessert could keep Grandpa Fred waiting that long. Only in Punta Gorda.
I woke up every morning to coffee and freshly-baked cinnnamon rolls, made a key lime pie with fruit from the local produce stand, and played a bit of golf. I avoided witnessing any wet t-shirt contests or frat bros doing body shots and can definitely call the week a success!
