I arrived late to the film camera party

I discovered William Eggleston a few weeks ago and loved his colorful, retro photos, but didn't realize how big a name he was until I found out he had an exhibition at the Art Institute in Chicago.

He's considered the father of color photography and used a special technique in order to oversaturate the color in his prints.

Hm, kind of reminds me of an amateur photographer that I know...

Anyway, I love how his photos are a little ironic and nostalgic without being predictable. And it reminds me of how much I love film! I won't be forgetting about my pretty little Minolta (not so little, actually) even though I have a fancy new Nikon.
