Like my yellow trench? It's vintage.
As much as I'd like to wear J.Crew from head to toe every day, I've been realizing that incorporating vintage pieces keeps my outfits from looking too predictable. There's nothing worse than those girls who look like they mindlessly bought whatever was on the mannequins at the mall.
Interjecting vintage pieces here and there is the easiest and cheapest way to add some variety to your wardrobe. Until I can afford to buy silk floral Stella McCartney jacket to wear over a t-shirt or a Giambattista Valli color-block dress to wear to brunch, I'll be sifting through racks at vintage shops (then washing my hands vigorously when I get home).

Have you had any great vintage finds lately? Leave me a link - I'd love to see!
Great jacket! Love the color.

the yellow color of that jacket is so lovely, and you look adorable as always! I have not yet done much vintage shopping, does going through my old crap at my parent's house count?

I was just wondering where that yellow trench was -- I needed something to wear over my new Uniqlo dress today! :-)

Vintage finds are definitely a great way to mix up your style. This was a great find! Love the yellow! And as a trenchcoat- it kinda reminds me of the morton salt girl! Super cute. =)

Hi, I just found your blog and am enjoying your writing so much. Just wanted to say that that is a fabulous coat. Vintage finds are the best. I have a dress that I pulled out of the dress-up bin at my husband's aunt's house, probably from around 1960, and it's one of my favorites. You can see it here:

Sorry it won't hyperlink - I'm still figuring that kind of technical stuff out!

Love your trench and yes, I found a fabulous vintage skirt recently that you'll get to see in my next post. I think you might just love it.
ReplyDeleteLove the coat!
ReplyDeleteI found this vintage dress for $.64 cents!

Ugh, I rarely find stuff in places that make me feel like washing my hands. I just can't focus when everything is unwashed. Why can't some places just launder the clothes before they put them up on the racks?! Etsy sellers (well, the good ones) manage, charity shops usually do, it 's just "vintage" stores that are so darn musky around here. Maybe they think it is part of the charm..
ReplyDeleteAwesome coat! Love cut and colour :)
I love yellow trench coats! I have a similar one that I wear obsessively in the spring :)
