It was my plan to go to the Statue of Liberty to recreate this John Lennon pic, but after realizing how much time standing in the cold would be involved, my mom and I scalped our tickets, got on the subway, and headed to Soho for some lunch and furniture shopping instead. I think we made the right decision.
Ironically, I made an Asian friend right after striking this pose.

I love that in New York you can wear a red plaid cape and Iris Apfel sunglasses and no one looks twice.
I love the outfit! So adorable... I am crazy about NYC... I went with my mom a few summers back, so great.
ReplyDeletePIECE OF CAKE. PEACE OF MIND.
... and I love that you are the type of girl who can wear a red plaid cape and Iris Apfel sunglasses and pull it off! Fabulous doesn't even begin to describe it.
ReplyDeleteI love that cape! So cute. I teach international students, and one time I asked one of the Asian students why the peace sign is so popular in pictures. She was like, "Well, what else are you going to do with your hands? Just let them hang there awkwardly?" which makes a lot of sense, I think.
