I will probably get my little Fashion Blogger banner taken away, but here it goes...
I feel so useless teetering around in heels - like a wannabe Paris Hilton who doesn't mind devoting a significant amount of mental energy to avoiding cracks in the sidewalk and optimizing her walking pace to avoid twisting an ankle. Sorry, but I have better things to do and think about. Heels make me question if I
really want to walk to the bathroom, or if I can handle holding it for just a little longer. Can't I just continue to accumulate more variations of spunky flats? (
these and
these are on my wish list)
Am I some kind of genetic screw-up of a female or are any of you with me?
Land's End Canvas shirt, Banana Republic jacket with vintage fur that I attached, J.Crew belt, SevenForAllMankind jeans, Banana Republic heels
If those are the same olive suede heels I own, I know why you're declaring this sudden hatred: those specific pumps are evil. They garner me oodles of compliments but also violently squeeze me feet and slip off my ankles when I take bigger steps. It's a lose-lose situation.
ReplyDeleteI don't even own a pair of heels! (Except for a super fancy pair I've worn twice - once to my school formal and then my brother's wedding). I'm almost 5'10" though, so I think I don't really need them.
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a sneakers king of gal...
to this i say, hells yes. i'm a total flats lady, but i do have my moment where my inner sassy-librarian self wants me to wear a pair of wedges. (stilettos can die. a slow painful death. who would create such a thing? it seems like some cruel joke).
ReplyDeleteLove the jacket and fur combo, looks great. I'm not a huge fan of heels myself, they're hard to walk in!

I want to like wear heals, but I don't either...
ReplyDeleteI have one pair that I haven't even wore at all! Flats are much more comfy and more enjoyable to walk in, for sure!
Aw shoot! Just call me Paris Hilton I guess. I was just having this internal conversation with myself about how wearing heels makes me more productive at work because I enjoy walking around in them. And I am wearing ridiculous heels today. They are a full 5 inches. Although, I have to admit that it took years of practice to reach this point.
ReplyDeleteI buy heels... because I think they are pretty... but then they don't get worn much. I recently decided that instead of purchasing cute shoes I am never going to wear I should beef up my collection of cute shoes that I will wear. Boots are a new favorite and now I have to add the black and white flats that are on your wish list to my wish list.
ReplyDeleteI don't own a pair of heels nor have I ever worn a pair but I love the idea of them.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 pairs of heels in my wardrobe- I've never worn one pair and the other was bought to go with a bridesmaid dress. You're definitely not alone in this one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute blog! totally following!

You are not alone! I own a few pair but usually only wear them on special occasions. Every once in a while I get brave and wear a pair to work, then I'm kicking myself about an hour into the day. Also, the blog Blue Collar Catwalk has an entire "no heel philosophy". You should check it out!
ReplyDeleteLooking amazing with the belted jacekt and fur collar. :)
ReplyDeleteI got crazy into lifts for a little while because I can actually walk like a sailor in them without hurting myself but I am tending towards oxfords again after a winter in flats. There are so many pretty ones out there as well..
You're definitely not alone! Flats are so much more practical for running errands/walking round the city exploring/climbing trees/having adventures! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit - you're way too cute! :) Definitely following your blog, thank you for the nice comment on mine!
I used to feel exactly the same way but I'm slowly adapting to heels. I'm only 5'0 so I need them! I usually go for wedges and heels with a little platform and cushiony footbed and they are not as bad.

Nope, I dislike wearing heels as well. I've been branching out and buying more heels lately though. Sometimes a girl has to take a little pain for beauty.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you don't judge those of us who LOVE to wear heels - I see nothing wrong with not wearing them. It's better than spending your life falling down all over the place! :)
