I've been known to layer stripes on top of stripes...
...but doing so in the summer months gets a little tricky because my objective is normally to wear a few layers as possible. By wearing a striped tie as a belt I was able to add interest to my outfit without increasing my sweat factor.
Isn't this vintage pin fun? I'm a big fan of Helvetica (have you seen the movie?! it's one of my favorites of all time.), so I couldn't pass this up when I found it at an antique store.
Kinda kooky, but I think I like it!
H&M dress (last seen here), Target tie, vintage pin, J.Crew flats
That belt is BRILLIANT. So preppy and clever. I have the same dress in navy + white stripe, but now I'm wishing I had that one too...
ReplyDeletei never would have thought of this, but now i'm getting a strange urge to rummage through my roomie's ties in the name of fashion.
ReplyDeleteLoving all the stripes.

ReplyDeleteAwesome idea to make a belt out of a tie with that pin! So cute! I too love stripes and Helvetica (the movie and the font).
